Product Description

Product Description

This is the UK's best-selling full colour Pub guide. Fully updated for 2008, this colourful guide features recommended pubs in Britain recognised for their quality food and atmosphere. Over 2,000 traditional countryside inns, taverns, gastro-pubs and welcoming hostelries are included, carefully selected on merit with no charge for entry. It features full colour throughout with more photographs than competing guides. The guide also features inspected and rated accommodation. Each entry includes information on opening times, prices and food. Quality seafood pubs are highlighted. There are also useful symbols throughout, such as AA Rosettes and Stars to indicate the quality of food and accommodation and a Wine Glass to identify where a range of wines are available by the glass. Special features include the AA Pub of the Year Awards.

Purchased this to update 2000 edition. Has plenty of pubs and covers the country well. Has some new additions and updates and I have found comments to be accurate.

Can I trust this book? 29 April 2009
Format:Paperback
The lay out and style are very easy to read and understand. I liked the extra walks and bike rides that were included as well. Unfortunately our local pub got a favourable review and in the 30 years I have lived in the village it has never come close to what was described in the book. In fact the pub even managed to receive a zero star rating from the Telegraph in 2005.
This was the first review I looked at and having completely disagreed with it I then found I could not trust anything else reviewed much less plan a walk, or trip based on their recommendation.
A great disappointment.
