I had two of these after a replacement was sent, both let out air as you use the pump, ended up returning this and purchasing a Halfords own brand one which worked perfectly.

I've given it a one star rating as it might have some possible merit if only I could have used it.
Purchased 2 of these pumps in the last week from Amazon as they appear to be a sturdy looking item with the AA name.
On taking the first one out of the box the hose connector to plastic manifold block was broken through making the pump useless. I returned this pump to Amazon using their excellent on line return scheme and requested a replacement unit. This second item was duly delivered, and on opening this box I could not believe it, as it had the same broken part i.e. hose connector to manifold block, also the tape holding the left hand side lock in the closed position was cut through and the plastic slide fell off. This appears to be a quality control issue, which needs addressing urgently. I have now requested return collection of this item and a refund, as I did not want to go for the hat trick.
    Yours Faithfully

OK. I'm a petrolhead and a motoring nerd.

I now have 2 of these AA double pumps. Bought the first one as a tester. Previously I had a Michelin double barrel pump of a similar design and the rubber hose broke which made the whole unit redundant. This unit is better designed though. Every car should carry one and using petrol station gauges is a no-no because of the 20p charge and inacurrate gauges that are abused by drivers.

    The pros:
    (1) Sturdy and stable
    (2) Locking tabs are better than the wire rod on older designs which bend and brake
    (3) Pretty accurate compared to my calibrated tyre pressure gauge
    (4) Hose clips out of the way
    (5) Additional inflator adaptors for beach toys, footballs, blow up dolls and inflatable mattresses/lilos

    The cons:

    (1) Rubber feet will fall off so put a dab of glue on.
    (2) Make sure the silver caps on the barrels are tightened as they have a habit of unscrewing.

DO NOT BUY THIS PUMP. I recently bought this pump on the strength of a car magazine recommendation as a replacement for my faulty twin barrel Michelin pump (which I have had for about 3 years and gave good service until one of the barrel seals and the pressure gauge failed). This pump is of much poorer build quality than the Michelin (the pressure gauge dial is off centre) and although the pump locking system is much better than that of the Michelin (the retaining plastic pegs on the Michelin both lasted only days) the main and unacceptable problem with this pump is the that the foot pedal "twists" when being used so that it catches on the side of the base of the pump. Unless you are standing straight over it - any slight sideways pressure results in the foot pedal twisting. The Michelin NEVER did this and had i known that this pump would do this I would not have bought it. I would not recommend anyone to but this pump. If you want a good quality twin barrel footpump buy the Michelin instead - I will. The only drawback with the Michelin is the two plastic retaining nuts have plastic 'ties' that hold it to the chassis of the pump and these are far too easily caught over the side of the pump chassis and guillotined by the downward action of the footpump. It just means they are not held onto the base of the pump - it is inconvenient but it just means keeping them in your pocket until the pump needs putting away.

This is not as good as it looks. When you give it some effort with the foot it is very unstable, foot keeps on slipping of resulting in the unit falling over. Also the gauge fell of after a few times. Brought an electric car adaptor one in the end, marvellous.

I expected the foot pump to be robust and of reasonable quality. I was disappointed to find that this wasn't the case and returned the first unit received as the frame sides were bent out of shape preventing smooth operation. Also the gauge window was partly obscured by what appeared to be a blob of dried glue. Quality control is obviously lacking as the replacement, although much better than the original, is not perfect. I slightly re-shaped the frame sides so they don't catch the foot pedal sides during operation, to make it acceptable. The tyre valve attachment requires an extremely hard push onto the valve to depress the valve pin.

I bought a cheap Silverline double pump, and just before we went a away on a trip I checked the tyre pressures only to have the cheap frame buckle so that there was no travel on the shafts. It didn't work. Bought this more expensive one as a replacement. It is much more robust, so looks like it will be good for years to come.

On first use the metal frame holding the pump cylinders sheared completely through. The pump is unusable and not fit for purpose. Opted for refund rather than replacement.
