Product Description

Product Description

Ideal for business and leisure, "CityPack Florence" is succinct with all the practical information you need for a perfect trip. Presented in a handy compact format, the guide also contains a separate fold-out map, within a concealed poppered pocket to help you navigate the city. Fully updated for 2006, Florence has been broken up into colour-coded districts, with the colour-coding cross-referenced throughout each section. There are four main sections within the guide Essential Florence, Florence by Area, Where to Stay and Need to Know. Essential Florence starts with the Top 25 sighs plus a locator map, then essential information to get the most of a short break in the city. Florence by Area takes you through the city, district by district, with localised shopping and entertainment listings. Where to Stay picks the best hotels to suit your budget, with web addresses listed where available. Need to Know contains all the basics for a smooth-running trip. Each district within the city has a two-page, colour-coded locator map with key sights listed.

City Pack - Florence 16 Jan 2009
A useful and concise publication for anyone visiting Florence for the first time. Particularly useful is the enclosed but separate (enabling it to be carried without the book if required) city map which is manufactured from a good quality 'splash proof' paper.

Good compact guide 18 Dec 2010
By Peter B
We used this for a 3-day trip. It met all our needs, with maps, suggested itineraries, hints on major tourist sites and some restaurants (a bit weak in this area - it would be worth doing some on-line resarch in advance if this is important to you).

Note that many guides cover Tuscany as a whole. If you are just going to Florence this is better. It is quite compact and gives everything you need.

Most travel guides over inform, leaving you confused as to what is worth seeing. This guide had enough information for either a short or longer break and the section on outside of Florence was particulary useful. One point worth knowing is that over 65's get free entry to most of the places of interest.
