This is a wonderful box set which covers the Tyrannosaurus Rex years of Marc's career, in extremely comprehensive fashion.
Disc one, comprises excerpts from the very last broadcast of John Peel's "Perfumed Garden" show on pirate radio in 1967, interspersed with songs from Bolan, Tyrannosaurus Rex & John's Children. This recording really does show how taken Peel was with Marc's music & voice. I'm sure that this will be a real nostalgia fest for those who used to listen to Peel on Radio London, all those years ago.
Disc Two is a "Demos & Work In Progress" section with some marvellous takes on some of the best loved of the Tyrannosaurus Rex material & has some real little treasures like "Deep Summer" & "Demon Queen" (plus a pretty odd recital by June Child).
There are two live discs (both from 1969)featuring a wealth of material from "My People.." & "Prophets..", which are a testament to that, rough around the edges, almost "Do It Yourself" feel that, in my humble opinion, alot of the Tyrannosaurus Rex recordings have.
Disc 5 starts with a fairly lengthy & very interesting interview with Marc that took place in Chicago in 1969,plus some pretty awful Dib Cochran & The Earwigs recordings.
On top of the 5 CDs, you also get a DVD & a very well done insert booklet.
Another triumph from the folks at the "Easy Action"label, they really are doing Marc & the Bolan legacy proud, with these box set releases & this is no exception - just brilliant in every way,
