Product Description

From the Author

You really can’t travel to a place like Broome, Western Australia, without burning to set a book there. Set between the stunning Kimberley and the turquoise Indian Ocean the town imparts a real sense of drama, romance and passion. It’s a fascinating town with a fascinating history, marked by isolation, incredible hardships, colourful characters and the quest for riches, first by the collection of pearl shell for mother of pearl but more recently for the cultivation of the magnificent South Sea pearls themselves, truly the most beautiful pearls in the world.

This book is dedicated to the town of Broome and to its people, a special breed for a very special place.

And very special thanks to the moon, for doing its thing that cloud free night by rising spectacularly over the tidal flats of Roebuck Bay and making that wonderfully special phenomenon, the Stairway to the Moon.

Simply the most romantic place on earth.

Simply magic!

About the Author

Like the town of Broome itself, Trish Morey's award-winning, best-selling stories are filled with passion, drama and romance. A Virgin for the Taking is very possibly her best story yet.

Good writing, but the hero was horrible! 26 Nov 2006
By Dream Emporium Dot-Com - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Ruby, the heroine of this story, is very likeable and interesting. Zane, the hero, takes Alpha to the 'nth' degree, and I do not see any qualities that would make Ruby even consider liking him, much less loving him. He was mean, judgemental, cruel, and hateful. He didn't even have good enough 'reasons' to be this way towards Ruby. What a jerk! The heroine is at fault for not telling the simple truth about her background or virginity (like he would believe the latter, anyway); so they both deserve a soap-opera-slap. The line starts behind me, and Zane gets extra slaps.

The storyline itself was interesting, and I like the author's style of writing. I would have enjoyed this book much more if the hero was the least bit likeable.

Marilyn Shoemaker, the other reviewer of this book so far, has given the plotline in her usually thorough style; so I won't repeat any of the story or give away spoilers. I did want to warn people who don't like cruel men that they might want to find another title by Trish Morey.

Passion, Mistrust and Secrets - Powerful Read! 1 Nov 2006
By Marilyn Shoemaker - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Zane and Ruby's journey to finding happiness was full of road blocks. Mistrust, secrets and a passion so powerful at times it was painful to read.

Zane is returning home to make peace with his father, only to find out that he has passed away and won't get the chance to speak with his father and heal old wounds. Instead, he finds the lovely and beautiful Ruby who he believes was his father's mistress. If that's not enough when his father's will is read, he discovers they will both have to run the Bastiani Pearl Corporation.

The story is set on the beautiful Gold Coast. It is evident that this author has done her research on the countryside and the pearl industry. The reader is taken on the journey of discovering and learning about pearls, design and the business itself.

Zane is a savvy businessman and Ruby a designer. Together they make an incredible team but would they agree? No, because there is mistrust, and way too many secrets between them along with such a powerful attraction they cannot deny. The reader is taken on a journey of discovery, passion and pain, one to be remembered for a long time.

I so enjoyed reading this wonderfully crafted story. I loved the way Trish Morey shows her readers that the power of love can heal all wounds and bring so much joy!

Pearls and swine 10 Aug 2008
By A Reader - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Ruby is a pearl jewelry designer and Zane is a businessman. They are forced to work together when they each inherit half of a prosperous pearl jewelry business in Broome, Australia. Zane is NOT a nice hero. He is extremely nasty to Ruby, and you really have to wonder why Ruby falls for him. He treats her terribly, believing her to be his deceased father's mistress. This is not Trish Morey's best effort.

Trish Morey previously wrote books on Ruby's sisters - Opal and Sapphire. Those books are "The Italian's Virgin Bride" and "Stolen by the Sheik" respectively. Both of these books are much better than this one. This book deserves two and a half stars. The tree stars are for completing the books on the sisters.
