I love Primo Levi, but most of the stories in this collection are dull and should have stayed filed with his papers. The only exception, I think, is "The Sorcerers".

Twenty years after Primo Levi's tragic death, discover a whole new side of Levi's writing in these luminous stories appearing here in English for the very first time. Levi was not just one of the great documentary memoirists of the Holocaust, but - as these stories remind us - an accomplished, imaginative writer of fiction in his own right. Levi is rightly considered one of Italy's greatest writers of the last century. (Re)-read his 'Periodic Table' or novel about partisans 'If Not Now, When?'.
