Review

"The chemistry between Jess and Devin is off the charts hot, and the sex is drop-your-drawers amazing. . . . The danger element just makes the story that much better, and leaves you on the edge of your seat dying to see what happens next."--Always YA at Heart

This book captivated me right from the get go, the story pulls you in rips up your insides and then soothes the hurt and makes you smile.
This book has one of the most beautiful book covers that i have seen in a long time.

Jess was such a broken but strong character, she escaped from family hell and learned to live on the side lines away from notice, hidden in the back ground of life, a shadow of herself. Jess is a beautiful ballet dancer and this is her outlet, the only part of her past she allows her self.

Cas (Devin) loved him from the very first meeting, hes the strong tattooed bad boy protector. Hes hot as hell and knows just how to turn a girl to mush. There is lots of sexiness between Jess and Cas up against walls, in cleaning cupboards, phewee damn hot sex scenes in this book i loved it!

Mitch did nothing for me at all, i just knew he was wrong just too nicey, nicey i like bad boy's. Plus he turned out to be a evil sick SOB!

The side kick characters rocked for me in this story, Carlie and Brad were fantastic, great banter and humor.

This book has a dark side as well as the romantic side, the story touches on abuse, violence and rape. Some parts are brutal really heart wrenching, but the story is so well written and how it all evolves with its twist and turns, its just wonderful.

For those who love a romance that's dark and gritty i highly recommend this book, its a 5* read.

This tale certainly had potential, but I felt that it couldn't make up its mind as to whether it wanted to be a FAME like tale, or a NA romance, or a NA thriller/romantic suspense.

The female lead is in hiding as a student, but is in fact a ballerina from a political family, who's estranged herself from them in order to be able to re-make her life following the tragic death of her friend, that she witnessed. She's made new friends, but has kept away from ballet, until a company comes to her uni/college and her friend enters her name to perform. So, she ends up performing again, but is told by the tutor that she lacks passion, and that she needs to take a lover.

So, take a lover she does, in the form of Devin Castile, a dark brooding secretive type, even though she has a guy called (yes, cue eye-roll) Mitch Maverick who she's supposedly dating. So, the sex goes on in secret, but her relationship with Mitch becomes weirder, with weird and uncomfortable actions and confrontations, yet her brain doesn't engage. Not at all. Not even at the very end when her life is in danger...

The read could have been good, but the pace was wrong, the characters never let me get to know them, and therefore, I couldn't like them. DC was confusingly called Devlin as well as Cas, which formed part of the confusion. As to MM - where was Jess's brain? Gone AWOL seemingly, which made her an unwitting and unwilling party to being endangered.

Overall, this needed length, some romance rather than the f***ing that the leads referred to, the psycho/s needed fleshing out, the female lead needed to use that brain of hers, and the tale needed fleshing out, and slowing in pace. I kept getting confused with who was who, due to the numerous characters that kept appearing and getting referred to, without seemingly being essential to the novel.
