As ever AVB has delivered yet again with this year's State of Trance album. Great, easy listening and melodic tunes fill the first "On the Beach" disk with the pace picking up perfectly on disk 2, "In the Club". Does away with any need to set-up playlists on your iPod - just select track 1, press play, sit back and enjoy!

A must buy for any fans of progressive trance music!

This man needs no introduction OMG! Armin's done it yet again. CD1 On The Beach tracks 1,2,6,7,8,11 Good vocals and guitar melodies with balearic beats. Got goose pimples when I listened the first track. CD2 In The Club tracks 1,3,8,9,10,11,12,13,14 more uplifting beatwise synth and keyboard tones are more apparent. Very very good CD. I would recommend this CD to anybody who likes trance music. You won't be dissapointed when purchasing this product.

Armin!!! Armin!!! Armin!!!

I have been a little critical of the 2008 and 2009 ASoT albums, because, I felt, the standard of both the actual songs and the mixing quality had changed compared to previous installations. Neither was as much to my taste. However, the latter of those points, the mixing, is back to its absolute best in ASoT10.
CD1 is flawless in quality. It flows like a beautiful summer breeze and the title of the album 'On The Beach' has never been so apt. You can feel it, and this album either compliments the hot sunshine, or more likely, brighten up the damp of the British summer. It is mixed, I think, better than any other album AvB has released. CD2 is also excellent on this front, and again there is a clear difference between the beach and the club, more so than on the previous ASoT's since 2005. I'm not saying that the last couple of ASoT's were worse because Armin couldn't be bothered to mix them properly, I think he just tried to change his style and fit in more chunky housier numbers than what appear on this album. It didn't suit him and I didn't think it sounded as smooth as 2010 does.
In terms of the songs, overall, much of the same as the previous two albums. There are some very good tracks, as always, which are again aided by the excellence of the mixing. CD1 isn't very exciting though - this, of course, isn't a requirement, but comparing this album to 2005, unbelievable unique and unusual songs were cropping up all over the place. CD1 flows brilliantly as I've said, but Armin may have been helped by the similarity song by song. The opening track is probably the most ambitious. If you like summer trance and guitars, this is the album for you!

Can't stop listening to this album, the On The Beach disc has always been the highlight for me, some really gorgeous summer trance track with a few guitar samples and soft synths thrown in. The In The Club disc features a few tracks that have been played during the build up to the ASOT 450 event, including the "450" track by Sebastian Brandt, some really awesome tracks on this disc without overdoing it. These A State of Trance Albums have been getting better and better since ASOT 2008 (which was when I started listening to the ASOT albums) would definitely recommend this compilation to people thinking of buying!

After the ASOT 2009 debacle, I was having low expectations. But I finally bought it and gave a listen.

CD 1: Almost instantly apart from track 2, I hated all the other tunes.
But after a month, I can honestly say that all the tunes have grown on me (Except track 5). This is exactly the characteristic of a classic CD in the making. You have to give it time to start liking it. It is still a notch under CD 1 of ASOT 2007 which I consider pinnacle of progressive trance of recent times. Only criticism here is the inclusion of too many guitar samples. (Major Highlights: track 1, 2, 4 and 7.)

CD 2: It has a great opener with lovely vocals of Aruna and from there is a explosive dance floor journey. Apart from Faithless tune which was poor excuse to remixing, the other tunes flow well. (Major Highlights: track 1 perhaps. Frankly, I didn't quite like CD 2 but I always buy and rate ASOTS based on their CD 1)

I hope most people have similar thoughts.

This album is just fantastic. Congratulations to Van Buuren yet again for bringing us another excellent installment. I have all the ASOT albums and I gotta say they keep getting better every year. I think 2010 is the best yet.
