4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful story! 29 Aug 2009
By Athenagwis - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
I had no expectations at all when I started this book, having never read this author before. I was thrilled to find myself completely engulfed in this book. The author does a great job bringing the characters to life, and keeping them real. I felt as if I was reading the love story of someone I knew, it wasn't one of those books where you say "It's a sweet story, but that would never happen to anyone in real life!" The author also keeps the story moving along at a reasonable pace. It doesn't drag, but it also doesn't move too quick. I felt that I got all I needed from each scene before she moved on to the next one. This was a decent sized read at about 5377 Kindle locations, but I found that I read it very quickly as I could not put it down. The book was free of formatting issues and had very minimal grammatical errors (I believe I saw maybe two in the whole book).

4.0 out of 5 stars a sweet story 16 Mar 2007
By book.of.the.moment - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This is one of those books that you finish reading and feel the need to sigh. It's a sweet story, a feel good story. A story about love overcoming all of the obstacles and challenges that life hurtles at us day after day. The story centers around Ron, a young military man, and Katie, the woman of his dreams. We follow them through a friendship that blossoms into more, through years of seperation during World War II, through paternity tests and losses of friends--all the while, the main theme is blatantly obvious: love can conquer all. I admit, I'm not much of a romance reader. Initially that's what I pegged this book as..and while there is somewhat of a romantic feel to it, its not all gushy mushy romantic. It's a nice heartfelt story...and I found myself enjoying it to my surprise. I would definitely say that this book will appeal to more females than males..call me sexist, but I can't imagine any of my guy friends reading it..I can however, see them being dragged to the movie theater to watch it, when its adapted into a feature film.. If you want to read a simple, heart warming story..this is the one for you.
