"Bibb is a singer through and through, but the genre is almost irrelevant. He is quite simply a star."
"Smooth, subtle, soulful & sophisticated, his is a beautiful and moving take on classic, coolly laidback acoustic blues."

About the Artist
Eric Bibb's music is a rich blend of the blues with elements of folk, country, gospel and soul, thanks in part to his being the son of New York folk singer Leon Bibb, which afforded young Eric exposure to a wide variety of music and opportunities to meet performers like Pete Seeger and Bob Dylan. Indeed, Eric recalls a childhood conversation with Bob Dylan, who, on the subject of guitar playing advised the 11-year-old Eric to "Keep it simple, forget all that fancy stuff". Aged 19, Eric left New York for Paris, where a meeting with guitarist Mickey Baker focused his interest in blues guitar. Bibb then settled in Stockholm where he immersed himself in pre-war blues and continued to write and perform. The trademark Bibb sound that emerged was first documented on the 1994 CD 'Spirit and the Blues', released on the independent Swedish Opus 3 label. After a further album for Opus 3, and a short stint on Code Blue before it folded, Bibb formed his own label with his manager Manhaton. A series of exemplary, critically acclaimed and large volume selling albums followed. Through his long-lasting relationship with Manhaton Records his profile has grown to the point where he is now one of the most established bluesmen in the UK and indeed across Europe. This album is a true accolade to his career with songs drawn from right across the board. With such classics as 'Saucer & Cup' and 'Needed Time' this is the definitive album from this master of modern day blues.
