This is a gripping read for all ages from perhaps eleven to a hundred, by an author who wrote so many stories about children and animals succeeding against the odds. This story is of a young woman who has lost her mother. Then, her whole world is threatened by sudden revelations from her father. I won't give the plot away, so just enough to whet your appetite: danger looms close, she has to leave home suddenly, running from dark forces at work in the familiar, and how she manages is surprising and inspiring. I read the book some years ago and ordered it again so I could enjoy it a second time from an older perspective.

This book is altogether a very good buy... It is full of mystery and would reccomend it to those people who like suspense writing
