Book Description

Life has been hard for struggling twenty-nine year old Ava but she is willing to take on yet another dead end job, whatever it pays, just as long as she earns enough to not let her teenage sister down. So when a case of mistaken identity puts her in line for a fantastically well paid job, with an even more fabulous boss, Ava can barely believe her luck. Second chances rarely come her way and she’s not going to let this one through her fingers without a fight.

But luck runs both ways and before she has barely begun her new life an agonizingly dark secret that she has kept hidden for nearly fifteen years, becomes a living nightmare for her and those around her.

Can the gorgeous Will Adams protect his newest member of staff from a past that threatens to destroy her while continuing to look after his own teenage son and his incredibly successful music business? For years Ava has looked after herself and her sister, sacrificing her education and her dreams and she's determined that neither her wonderful new boss nor his son will be put in any danger. But when Ava’s life is threatened Will realizes that his heart is no longer his own. He will do everything in his power, whatever the cost to himself or his multi-million pound business, to keep the woman he has learned to love safe.

Can Will overcome Ava's violent past, win her trust and her heart even while her life is on the line?

This is an "Easy Read" Romantic thriller, essentially serious but light-hearted in places and suitable for young adults upwards. (Contains mild bad language)

More About the Author

I was born in Essex England during the mid sixties but I missed all the fun. Being only young I assumed that all Beatles were six legged creatures and Flower Power was something to do with the vigorous way my mother kneaded the bread dough.

My wonderful parents brought me up with a huge love of books. We read anything and everything. Bedtime stories were a treasured time of adventure and mystery. My sister and I sat wide eyed in wonder and to this day I worry about Dinah and Dorinda being pricked with pins because they grew so fat, and I never pull faces at the a waning moon (or was it a waxing one?) just in case my chops stay that way . (The Wind On The Moon)

I began reading romance while still at school. The fuel for many a teenage fantasy leapt from between the covers of wildly romantic books and my passion still lingers now for all those dark haired heroes.

My own beautiful teenage daughter persuaded me to write my first romance. She was only fourteen at the time and between books for children and adults. She couldn't find anything that ticked all her numerous and particular boxes and so she asked me to write a book, with all the exact ingredients just for her. Though not just a book for teens, she enjoyed the resulting tale so much that she shared it with her friends and I eventually published A Perfect Summer as an ebook on amazon.

But I have discovered that writing is not easily stopped once you start. It has turned into a grand passion that I just cannot hold back. The fingertips start tapping the keys and ideas suddenly come flooding, far too many for just one book and so I began another and then another. Ten books later (including 3 in my best selling Scarred Series) I am still nowhere near done. Book ten is now done and only just the other night I woke from a wild and wonderful dream with book eleven fully formed in my head.

Romance will always be my first love but recently I was so influenced by a tiny polished plaque on a sea wall that I gave paranormal romance a try. (Echo Beach) Mixing the two genres was a real challenge for me but I was delighted with the result. Historical romance is going to be my next genre. All those fabulously titled and passionate men are impossibly hard to resist.

I hope you enjoy all of my efforts and I look forward to your comments and reviews.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Romance 31 May 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
With their parents both dead, Ava is desperate to do all she can to help her younger sister, even working all hours. However, when Kate hopes to go abroad, Ava seeks out yet another cleaning job to add to her list of dead end jobs. However, in a case of mistaken identity, she finds herself in as a PA with a large firm. But suddenly, Ava's world seems to fall apart when her past catches up with her.

I really enjoyed this delightful story about two people who find love, but then seem to be torn apart by circumstances. Once I started reading, I felt unable to put it down. My sympathies lay with the two main characters, so very well portrayed by author Jackie Williams. An excellent light-hearted read.

5.0 out of 5 stars A perfect summer read. 15 July 2013

'A Perfect Summer' is the perfect summer read. The story is beautifully written and sprinkled with humour, a real treasure for a fan of romance and anyone who enjoys a good book. The main characters Ava and Will are intense, each with a past that will complicate their futures. This was the first book I have read by Jackie Williams and will certainly not be the last.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read, gripping story. 12 Nov. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Great read.
I am a fan of Ms. William's Scarred series. Her stories never disappoint.
In a perfect summer, the bond between sisters is moving, the story is filled with emotion and humor. The characters are not one dimensional or shallow, their personalities come alive on the pages.
The fact that Ava wants to move mountains to make her sister's dreams come true strikes home with those of us that have the close relationship with our siblings. Though the book was suggested to me in the YA category, I took a chance and bought it and found it suitable for ages 13 and up. Will definitely be looking for more books from this author.
