In this second edition Sibley has expanded on the military aspects of his first book, and goes on to answer the question "What did this remarkable man do next?" The answer is - he trained as a nurse and worked in A&E and Intensive Care for a total of 19 years. He felt compelled to "put something back" having survived when so many friends died, however as he admits, it may not have been a wise choice. He did not fit comfortably into the NHS, and his observations of the culture within the organisation are fascinating. A must read!
