Product Description

Good looks, top job in the city, Ferrari, second and third homes in Paris and Cannes , not to mention a spacious penthouse overlooking the Thames. Yes, it seemed Donavan Smith had it all. And the girls. ready and willing. And if, every now and again, they weren't so willing, Donavan had his own way of persuading them. Jenny McArthur was different though. She knew something terrible had occurred during a ten-hour period of her life that was a total blank. But, as it all gradually came back to her, she relived the horrors encountered at the hands of Donavan Smith. And she wanted to get even. Donavan would have to deal with her. Vicky Mackenzie harboured a secret, a secret that she hadn't disclosed to anyone. So why was she spilling the beans to a total stranger from London , a stranger who she'd only met that night? She told him all about her past life, the cold-blooded murder of her husband, the phoney bank raid and how the money was still out there somewhere. Donavan listened and wondered how he could get his hands on the money; wondered if it was possible to plan a premature retirement. It would get nasty, that was for sure. But why not? Donavan Smith had done nasty before, just ask Jenny McArthur. Donavan Smith and Vicky Mackenzie: two soul mates, two secrets; it was a match made in hell.

From the Publisher

When Ken Scott penned JACK OF HEARTS the team at LIBROS
INTERNATIONAL agreed it was a sensational debut novel. We were determined
to bring 'Scotty' on board. We succeeded and his new novel A MILLION WOULD
BE NICE the sequel to his first book is a publishers dream. Well written,
incredible imagination and a plot that twists and turns and pushes and
shoves leaving you guessing and wondering and hoping right to the final
page.

This sequel to "The Jack of Hearts" completely lived up to my expectations. It is just as exciting and full of suspense. I love the way that Mr Scott wraps up the story that was started in "The Jack of Hearts" which you thought was already happily ever after, but then Bob Heggie didn't know about Donovan Smith.

It is sheer brilliance to have the ability to write about two characters that are the complete antipathy of each other, the salt-of-the-earth Bob Heggie who appears in both books, and the sadistic bar steward Donovan Smith. You really believe in these characters and you desperately want good to win through, but life isn't always like that, is it?

A million votes 13 Nov 2006
Format:Paperback
Ken Scott has done it again with this sequel to his first Novel, "Jack of Hearts."
Heggie is a true hero of our times. As you read this book you are drawn in to a rollercoaster ride, with twists and turns abundant.
Scotts characters are so finely drawn its all you can do not to hiss out loud at Donovan Smiths exploits.
A must read and an excellent sequel too, this writer improves with every book

Really enjoyed this one! Well written and 'worryingly' believable- as a female, it really makes you think- there are some nasty characters out there! Beware...
