Book Description

9 Dec 1991 0582489253 978-0582489257 1
Rich in detail but vigorous, authoritative and unsentimental, Modern Wales is a comprehensive and unromanticised examination of Wales as it was and is. It stresses both the long-term continuities in Welsh history, and also the significant regional differences within the principality.

`His reputation as one of the liveliest Welsh historians of the younger generation is amply confirmed by his History of Modern Wales, where he presents a brightly written and original outline of the subject.'

1.0 out of 5 stars TEARS AT BEDTIME 8 May 2013
By Jie-Jie
Format:Paperback
5 stars go to the book cover. Is this the famous Welsh king Arthur Glyndwyr? My children found this book very heavy going as they thought that they were getting a bedtime story about DAD but instead had to put up with 400 hundred years of Welsh history!
