Book Description

A daughter’s anguish.
A mother’s wrath.
An impossible choice.

When Sophie discovered her Nephilim ancestry, she chose to do the unthinkable and put on the cloak of humanity, leaving the supernatural behind. Other than a heartbreaking love and raising a child on her own, her life was simple and fulfilling. Until the day her grown daughter showed up on her doorstep bloodied and bruised.

In that moment, she embraced her destiny and took the path previously forsaken. With seemingly unlimited power to right the wrongs of the world, Sophie embarks on a mission to rid her town of ‘Destroyers’--men who victimize women. Vengeance has come and death rides with her, but fate is a fickle task master and revenge always comes at a price...even for a Nephilim.

More About the Author

Willow Cross resides in Arkansas with her husband, two children still young enough to live at home, an enormous cat named Bitsy, and a neurotic dog named Tank. Her home has been known to host the occasional ghost and several of her friends profess to be witches. Although she dearly loves Vampires and Werewolves, they are never invited for dinner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great short read! 21 Mar. 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I really enjoyed this little read - Willow has a fabulously strong-willed heroine! Its wonderful to read a story where the woman isnt the damsel in distress for once! Aside from that, I love the idea of vengance on men that mistreat women - its totally something that should happen! Much love for Willow's books - hoping maybe for a little sequel to this tale perhaps? <3

5.0 out of 5 stars An amazing diffrent kind of read by Willow Cross 27 Mar. 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I was gave this ARC copy from the author for an honest reveiw. Thank you Willow Cross for this amazing read!!!

WOW! Everything that Willow has made is just WONDERFUL! This book was diffrent then the rest, which made me love it even more. Don't get me wrong I love all of Willow's work, but his story is just diffrent. I have not read a lot of angle books but this one was graet. I feel bad for Sophie. How is she suppose to choose the right path to take? I don't want to put a bunch of spoilers in here so there is not much else to say. This is a must read and I hope you all enjoy this story as much as I have. Now go get your copy today!!! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars I dub thee "Sophie the Great"! 3 Dec. 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I can't applaud this book enough!! As usual Willow WOWs us with her intricate tales she weaves! I always find myself relating to her characters, & it draws me into their world(s). And ... quite honestly ... I <3 Sophie! Not only do I support women standing up & saying no to abusers 100% ... I do believe if I were in Sophie's position I too would need to be feared! Then comes the curve ball of the choice that must be made. Sometimes knowing things in advance makes decisions much harder to make. I'm curious to know what side she would choose! ;*)

5.0 out of 5 stars OMG! 23 Oct. 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
OK to begin I was gifted A Higher Calling in exchange for my honest review of the book and I can honestly say this is something way different from all of Willow Cross' other books! I can tell that I am going to be at war with myself over Nathaniel and Ramiel both seem to have quite the body and looks by their descriptions but, I am still trying to place each of their full intentions as well as their personality's right now they both have a macho thing goin . Sophie has been put between a rock and a hard place wondering which side to take and to make it worse her daughter Shelly is going to be affected either way her mother chooses. While Nathaniel and Ramiel try to sway Sophie in two different directions she is scared for her daughter and also her possible future granddaughter if she chooses wrongly it could prove to leave no protection for Shelly or not having a granddaughter some day. As much as I hate the words to be continued this book has definitely left me wanting more. The Higher Calling is worth a look for sure! Happy Reading!OMG!
