Barbara Lynn had something of a curious history in this country with her biggest hit passed by the London American label who licensed the Jamie label.In spite of being a top R & B single in the States no Barbara Lynn product was available until about 1965 when the Sue label acquired the rights to Jamie and issued the hit along with tha LP which followed it.When London issued a Barbara Lynn single around 1964 it was a minor hit called Oh baby we got a good thing going-covered by the Stones on their Out of Our Heads album.After that came You left the water running-cut for her next label Tribe and a single on the Immediate label called You can't buy my love yet none of these singles were anything other than minor hits.
It would not be till the 70s that any further Barbara Lynn product made it to the U K.
The CD Age though has seen just about every song she recorded available by the 21st century

Barbara Lynn is a revelation. I thought she was a Country & Western singer! But, no, she's a left handed blues guitar player, with a soulful voice. All the songs are short, and I wanted many to last twice as long. Very competent and groovy. At the time most of these singles were released, the music scene had gone psychedelic and was merging eastern scales & complex guitar solos. Blues & soul were passe. It's great to discover someone who went unnoticed for so long. A more recent album "So Good" is excellent too.

cd contained lots of good songs.booklet was while written with very good information about the artist.a must have for anyone who likes excellent music
