A Wish Fulfillment fantasy 15 Dec 2011
By Rachel Eliason - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is the story of a teenage boy "like most boys really" from an ultra-conservative family. When they bundle him off to religious school he rebels by invoking an ancient pagan deity. He asks this deity to make him the perfect girl of his dreams, only to discover the deity takes his prayers literally and turns him into a girl named Dana.
Oops, I just revealed the entire plot to the story. Seriously, my biggest complaint with this book is that it is too short. And I don't just mean the word count. It sets up the premise well enough, but fails to use that premise to actually tell a story.
The premise is pretty typical crossdresser/TG wish-fulfillment fantasy. You magically wake up and find yourself a woman now. You can probably find several hundred similar stories on most CD/TG websites. (In fact I wrote a very similar story before my transition.) Like most stories in the genre there is an awful lot of "I did ____ like a real girl and it felt completely natural/comfortable."
A Girl's Life is definitely better written than the average CD/TG fan fiction. However I doubt anyone outside of crossdressers or pre-op Transwomen will find the book interesting.

An amazing short story! 1 Sep 2011
By Luke - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I agree that this story is short. Should take you maybe an hour or two to read, depending how fast you are. But it's really, really good. Not at all like your typical TG story. This is more about embracing change, with an interesting mix of spirituality and life philosophy mixed in. I highly enjoyed this and recommend it to anyone with an open mind. But if you're looking for a highly erotic/sexual story, you won't find it here. This is a story that inspires, makes you think and feel, and gives a new perspective on life. And although it's not a full-length novel, it's totally worth the $3. I could've paid double and still been happy. I wish there were more stories like this.
Misleading, not as expected. 3 May 2012
By Lolo - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
The book is very disappointing.

Don't get me wrong, it is good and well written, it is interesting and the approach is quite novel. The problem is that you buy this book to read about MTF transformation and you don't get that until 70% of the book has already gone. More than half the book is spent in phylosophical background and introspective, which is good, but if I wanted to read about this I wouldn't have bought this book in the first place.
