My copy of this is dog-eared, i've flicked through it so much!!! Essential reference book for anyone into the history of Formula 1 & 2 (and F5000), gives overview of each car and year raced, as well as an accurate lineup of drivers of the particular car during period raced. A new version is out now which I think covers up to 2000?

This book should be on the shelf of any devotee of motorsport , especially if their interest is focused on cars now regarded as 'historic.' David Hodges has done a fine job in compiling this book . His potted histories of individual marques are absorbing and contain many snippets of interesting background information . If there is a critism of this book ,then it is the authors self-acknowledged ommission of Formula 5000 cars . Had they been included then this book would have been truly outstanding rather than merely good.
