3.0 out of 5 stars Bit of a let down. 6 Sep 2011
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Was really looking forward to receiving this book on its publication. On the whole very pleased and there are lots of beautiful photographs however there is an entire section (almost half the book!) dedicated to William and Catherine's nuptials ,almost too much in fact whilst other weddings although briefly mentioned are compleltely missed out from photogarphy so weddings over the past 75 years really means in 2011!

3.0 out of 5 stars A missed opportunity 8 Jan 2012
By Qball
Format:Hardcover
I purchased this book having read other reviews, so was at least prepared for what I found. If you want something to give a list of european weddings in the last 70ish years, plus lots of photos of Prince William and Catherine Middleton's wedding, then this is it.

However, I can't help but feel that the publishers have tried to do two things, and succeeded in doing neither of them well! The information on European weddings consisted of a (very) select few, with a paragraph of the contemporary new coverage, with a couple of photos. Very unsatisfying, especially as this had been billed as 'past european weddings' together with William and Kate.

The second half of the book (on William and Catherine) was much better.

Definitely a missed opportunity, as in Britain we rarely see or hear much about the European monarchies and their weddings, especially those further in the past.

4.0 out of 5 stars A fine romance 4 Jan 2013
By Mrs. Susanne Willshaw VINE VOICE
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Very heavy book which had some wonderful photographs. A book to keep with all it's details of european marriages and our own William and Catherine.
I was very disappointed however that there were no more european wedding photos and pictures of crowds cheering did not inspire me .I would have liked more photos of William and Catherine taken in the palace after their nuptuals as with previous royal couples and their relatives/guests

4.0 out of 5 stars What a Lovely Wedding 11 Oct 2011
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
I loved reading this book and seeing all the wonderful royal weddings from other countries. It was really interesting and the photographs were beautiful. Oh how fashions may have changed but all the brides had one thing in common. They looked stunning and very happy. This would make a great present for anyone who loves not only weddings but royal families from Europe as well.
