Product Description

This sensational workout, inspired by the movie, is designed to help improve muscle tone, flexibility, burn calories and so aid in losing weight; all done to an amazing soundtrack in a fun and energetic workout. Our Instructor & Choreographer has worked with Jamelia, Kylie and Beyonce, all of who have one thing in common, they have great looking bodies because they dance! Dance is the best way to loose weight because it is great fun and you don't feel like you are working out. We have devised this workout for those of you who want to loose weight, tone up get fit and have fun whilst doing it! I think we can all agree that dancers have the best bodies and that's what this workout aims to give you! We start with a full body warm-up to mobilise the joints and muscles in preparation for the full workout. We then move into the aerobic section of the DVD - the dance class; this is split into four 8-10 minute phases. Phase 1 - concerntrates on toning the inner and outer thigh muscles. Phase 2 - emphasis is on the shoulders and legs. Phase 3 - keeps your heart rate up with off the spot action for extra fat burning. Phase 4 - brings the body back down slowly with a mellow routine. We then move onto the toning section of the DVD, keeping it true dance fashion we start with some classic barre exercises (where you can use a chair)...ever wondered why dancers have such fabulous legs and bums well you'll find out here! Then onto the floor to strengthen and tone the abs, obliques, triceps, lower back and pecs. Incorporating a dance stretch to encourage your muscles and you to relax and avoid injury. We finish with a remobiliser to awaken the body and get you ready for your day/night! This DVD can be run as a full programme (70mins) or you can choose just one or two of the dance classes if you don't have time. In the extras the dance team freestyle to the classic track 'I Want To Live Forever' which can be a fun addition to any workout! Inspired but not endorsed by or in any way associated with the movie!

After buying countless new exercise dvds this christmas (5 in total!)I got this one too.

It is very similar in format to the Hip hop workouts which came out a few years ago, the instructor teaches you a move, goes over it about 4 times and then goes onto the next move.

Its broken down into about 4 routines, and at the end, they put it all together to the irene caras 'fame' tune.

The best part about this dvd though is the barre work and the push ups and sit ups.

Im really quite fit and exercise alot but 5 days after doing the whole of this dvd, my body is still aching due to the barre work section!

I would definately recommend this dvd.

It gets easier! 9 Mar 2008

I've just bought this DVD and I too, was really annoyed at first at how hard it seemed even for me, as I have had quite a bit of dance experience too! But stick with it the steps aren't really that difficult once you have done the dvd through a few times. The ballet & floor section are quite good giving a whole range of stretches and the remobiliser bit makes u feel recharged! Once you master the steps, doing the whole routine in one go at the end (in the Freestyle section) is really satisfying!

Definitely worthwhile, however you do need a bit of patience to master the steps. Remember it probably took the dancers in the dvd ages to learn the routine - so keep at it!

I've had this dvd now for 3-4 weeks. The first time I put it on, I was annoyed. It's irritating that the instructor dives straight into the dance moves without a hint of explaining first and it left me feeling like a right muppet with arms and legs struggling to keep up!

HOWEVER, I've found it beneficial to watch a segment through first without even attempting to follow, just to get an idea of what I should be doing. I took each dance class on it's own and learned the moves before moving on to the next. There are 4 in total and I've actually only done the first 2. But once you've learned the moves, you'll find the classes do push your heart rate up without making you feel as if you should collapse!

The barre and floor section is excellent. Again, pushing you far enough to achieve something but not so far you have to drop out and glare at the cheesy faced dancers grinning their way something gruelling.

Dance stretch and remobiliser are also excellent. I do this dvd somewhere between 2 and 4 times a week and I've yet to wake up the following morning with aching muscles!

So in all, I'd say a great dvd. Couldn't rate it too highly on account of lack of explanation and irritating dancers, but I have lost 4lbs in the last 2 weeks and I feel more toned and energetic. (And I haven't been starving myself either!). I'd say give it a go!
