Book Description

22 Mar 2013
Blue Echohawk doesn't know who she is. She doesn't know her real name or when she was born. Abandoned at two and raised by a drifter, she didn't attend school until she was ten years old. At nineteen, when most kids her age are attending college or moving on with life, she is just a senior in high school. With no mother, no father, no faith, and no future, Blue Echohawk is a difficult student, to say the least. Tough, hard and overtly sexy, she is the complete opposite of the young British teacher who decides he is up for the challenge, and takes the troublemaker under his wing. This is the story of a nobody who becomes somebody. It is the story of an unlikely friendship, where hope fosters healing and redemption becomes love. But falling in love can be hard when you don't know who you are. Falling in love with someone who knows exactly who they are and exactly why they can't love you back might be impossible.

More About the Author

Amy Harmon knew at an early age that writing was something she wanted to do - and she divided her time between writing songs and stories as she grew. Having grown up in the middle of wheat fields without a television, with only her books and her siblings to entertain her, she developed a strong sense of what made a good story. Amy Harmon has been a motivational speaker, a grade school teacher, a junior high teacher, a home school mom, and a member of the Grammy Award winning Saints Unified Voices Choir, directed by Gladys Knight. She released a Christian Blues CD in 2007 called "What I Know" - also available on Amazon and wherever digital music is sold. Her first two books, "Running Barefoot" and "Slow Dance in Purgatory" are rich with humor, heart, and fast paced story telling. She is currently working on the sequel in her Purgatory series. 5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely amazeballs!! 4 April 2013

If I could give this book a million stars I would...this book was totally AMAZEBALLS, I absolutely loved it, adored it and fell in love with it. It had me hook, line and sinker from the very beginning and I devoured it in one sitting!

The writing had me gripped, was totally emotional all the way through and the connection I felt towards the characters was as if I was there with them. I adored Blue and Wilson..I was rooting for them from the start..even though it was student/teacher after graduation I was come on Wilson!!!!!

This book starts with an outline into Blue's history, she is half Native American and half American..her mum took her on a road trip when she was 2 to get away from it all and ended up dumping her in another Native American's truck..she was subsequently murdered 2 days later..Jimmy Echohawk kept the child and named her Blue..

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful story 5 April 2013
By Diane
Format:Kindle Edition
What a beautiful, beautiful story. I absolutely loved this. I adore Blue and Wilson and their story is like a roller coaster of emotion that you get carried along with. I laughed and cried and screamed at the pages as their relationship grew. Blue appears tough on the outside but inside she just wants a family and someone to love her and then enters Wilson, a young English man that teaches History and appears a bit of a 'geek'. Wilson has issues of his own but sort of takes Blue under his wing and the story starts. You have to read this book if you enjoy a good love story with lots of twists and turns. I will certainly read this book again because it made me feel all warm and 'fuzzy', a lovely lovely story that just makes you smile most of the time. :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars A Stunning Masterpiece! 9 Aug 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It's taken me over two months to be able to write a review for this book, because it was so phenomenal, so brilliantly written, with a story that put me through an emotional ringer, and I really don't feel like any review I give will do this masterpiece justice. But here were go.

It feels a shame that five stars is the limit because this book deserved so much more than that.

`A Different Blue' tells the story of young Blue Echohawk who doesn't know who she is. She doesn't know who her parents are, doesn't know where she was born, and doesn't even know her name. Whilst this idea could have been a bit cliche, with a girl having to make her own story, there was nothing cheesy about the way this book was written, or how the story was approached, it was truly nothing short of spectacularly beautiful.

Blue's relationship with her teacher Will is one that we all wish a teacher would have with us. To be supportive, fair and there for you when you needed help even if there was nothing in it for them. Unfortunately, all too many teenagers these days don't have respect for their teachers, or the other way around, so this was wonderfully refreshing to see how Will didn't give up on Blue even when she did everything she could to make him leave her alone.

There isn't a lot that I can say in this review as I want to keep it spoiler free so that everyone who decides to read it will take the same emotional and incredibly moving journey that I took, but I will just say that this book has made me view so many things in such a different light, and I am so glad that I downloaded it.

5.0 out of 5 stars I really, really liked this book! 5 Aug 2013

I really, really liked this book! It had it all, drama, suspense, heartache, love, romance and history. Yes I said History! I learnt so much from this book, things being British I know I was taught at school but chose to forget. It’s a sad story with a lovely ending (My kinda Story).
