A very enjoyable book wich tracks the story of a young Irish girls life from Ireland to England through the first world war very sad in parts but could not put it down another great read from Anne Bennett

A Daughter's Secret was absolutely mind rendering and have purchased all the books relating to the Sullvan family. I'm now into A Sister's Promise and this one is as good as the others. Can't put this story down. Anne Bennett is a brilliant writer. I applaud her for getting into the nitty-gritty of everyday life in the early 1900's onwards. The Sullivan history is to be read!

This book was gripping from the first word to the last word. I could not put it down once I had started. Some of it is very sad, but lots of it is happy. It portrays the hardships for a young girl into womanhood and over 40 years of her life. I strongly recommend this and am now about to buy others about the Sullivan family. Keep writing such good books Anne Bennett and I will keep buying them.

fantastic from start to finish
Excellent, I cried so many tears throughtout the book, felt the fear and the emotion and just couldn't put it down, a definite must read.
