'This book is epic and tackles difficult issues with skill and sensitivity'

Product Description

Iseult 'Izzy' Mulcahy is a mother and a woman in love, a writer and a thinker – and the last person anyone would expect to commit murder . . .

After being charged with killing her father, rather than fight for her freedom, Izzy escapes into the past – her own past and that of the famous Iseult Gonne, after whom she was named. Izzy has spent her adult life in America and it has given her independence, a dream to follow, and the loves of her life – her daughter, Star, and her soul-mate, Zach. But the burden of illegitimacy, and a readiness to sacrifice ambition for love, inhibited Izzy, as they did the other Iseult.

As Izzy sets down Iseult's story and unravels her own past, she comes to understand why she returned to Ireland and the father she hated. But to her dismay, she also realizes that when she stands up in court her testimony will have a devastating effect on the two people who mean the most to her . . .

A Dance in Time 22 Nov 2008
Format:Paperback
Amamzing book from start to finish. If you have any interest in the story of W.B. Yeats, Maud Gonne or Iseult Gonne then you will not regret buying this great piece of literature.

The story was written with great narrative and especially a most interesting look at life in Ireland in the period 1900-1950. The human emotions are skillfully written about and one can glean easily the frailties and strengths of individuals. One had to concentrate on each character in the book as he/she moved through his/her life. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I recommend it highly.

5 Star Epic Saga 30 Jun 2009
Format:Paperback
A Dance In Time by Orna Ross
Orna Ross's second book A Dance in Time is now on sale in paperback. It is published by Penguin Ireland and its ISBN is 1844880532. It is an enjoyable but complex read. There are over 600 pages of Irish historical facts and gossip mixed with contemporary fiction. I loved this as I love Irish history but it is an equally enjoyable read as a family murder mystery. Izzy stands accussed of her father's murder and instead of defending herself she tries to unravel her past. It is a journey of discovery and a tale of the burden of illegimatacy and the strains of mother daughter relationships. Orna Ross is not afraid to rewrite history and her great writing skill brings the historical figures like Maud Gonne and WB Yeats to life. The book has it all an epic saga, betrayal, revenge, suspense, murder, surprise, great characters and the brilliant twist at the end of the novel. Reviewed by Annette Dunlea author of Always and Forever and The Honey Trap.
