Ronny Jordan, the King of the Jazz guitar has returned with his first album of the new Millenium and as the title suggests, this offering is a very optimistic and upbeat affair.
The album is less influenced by Hip-Hop as on some of RJ's previous outings and relies more on smooth guitar licks and laid back grooves, making it the perfect background to a Summer afternoon chillin' in the garden.
Jordan has drawn from classic jazz influences, such as the Miles Davis inspired " Aftermath " and also from the World music vibe of tracks such as "Mambo Inn " and "New Delhi" which portray an upbeat street carnival theme. A guest appearance from rapper Mos-Def closes the album with a remix of the title track. A must have for any Ronny Jordan fan or anybody looking for a super smooth, chilled out record - forget your ambient and Ministry of Sound - If you want to chill out,get some of this Ronny J on your decks!!!

A Brighter Day counts for me as one of guitar genious Jordans better efforts. Everything he does is listenable but when he goes into Rap.country it is not as fun for me...
However ABD is simply great and meant to be heard and played LOUD! Listen to Mysic Voyage (w R Ayers) and try not to Groove. Your whole inner self is smiling!
And...the whole CD is great. Not a bad song!

its ok ,not as good as previous albums but worth adding to the collection. Mystic voyage is a favourite..also 5/8 in flow and the presence of Mos Def on A brighter day (remix )
