Standing at around 9 inches the Didact towers over the master chief and even other figures such as voyager optimus prime and the Xenomorph lurker. The detail is amazing and while there isnt much in the way of articulation you can still get him in some cool poses.

The figure comes with two heads, a masked and unmasked version. The figure comes with the unmasked head on to start with, and sculpting wise is very accurate. The colours are a little different them they are in the game but that doesn't bother me. The helmet also looks awesome and is my preferred head option which leads me to my only negative point.

Switching the heads over is a true test of strength, one of which i failed. Getting the head off wasnt a challenge but the neck joint came with it, and prived tough to get out. However ince i stuck it in the second head i found connecting it back onto the body impossible.

However and easy trick for me was to just leave the neck joint out and place the preferred head option on top anyway. Both heads fit perfectly and still have a decent amount of movement despite not being connected to anything. It also makes the head swapping much easier and less stressful.

Overall i really like this figure and it is truly one of the stand out pieces of my collection.

The Didact is a Forerunner who was in stasis for many years and by the time of Halo 4 is now the only Forerunner left in the Galaxy and thus the main antagonist of the Halo 4 game.

The Figure you could forgive for thinking is out of scale with other McFarlane Halo figures, this towers above even a hunter and is far bigger than any Elites/Brutes/Spartans.

But this is the correct Scale for what he was in the game, he was the commander of all Forerunner warriors at one point and most of his men/women, became the Knights seen in the game and also available from McFarlane.

The Figure is huge and very well detailed, and has good articulation and every finger on the hand is articulated also.

Essentially it comes just as you see in the picture, no weapons etc, but then the Didact does not really need them.

It also comes with a 2nd head, with helmet etc, the idea is that when you want the character to have his helmet on you would just simply switch heads, this is something I've seen done well in other figures before. But not here I'm afraid, the heads’ themselves are great and well detailed, the issue is switching them, my son got his from my Gran for Xmas as he loves Halo figures. Of course he wanted to switch heads, after half an hour almost I finally removed the head you see here, it felt like I was going to rip the whole head off it was so tight, but I finally removed it and then found that putting the other one on, was going to be almost impossible, it was just far too tight a fitting to get in even with an adult Man pushing it with full force.

First off this is a great take in plastic of the Forerunner Commander from Halo 4. Sculpting is spot on - Mcfarlane put a lot of effort into getting the detail. The paint application is also to a high standard and the armour is outstanding. The alternate head is pretty hard to switch (again great detail)as neck joint is tight - but this is not a problem. The shoulder joints are also very tight and hold well. The real let down are the weak loose joints in the knees and elbows which make it difficult to hold any sort of pose. If this was a cheap piece, then ok, but at over £25 with p&p it's not,and does not represent 'value for money'.

That said it's great looking on your shelf or desktop if you're a Halo affectionado and even if you're not, it's still very impressive. Beware if you're buying it for kids though, cos whilst it looks tough, it's pretty fragile - in terms of overall quality, the H4 Elite Zealot or HR Brute Chieftain beat this hands down.
