I have to say that I have followed Eros now for over 10 years, despite not speaking or understanding Italian. Every new album shows more maturity and he just gets better.
I thought his previous album (Stile Libero) was by far his finest work. And now, we have "9". What do I think? The album is excellent. It has more romantic ballads than most of his albums. Each song is typically polished, reassuringly romantic and with his distinct voice, beautifully sung.
If you are new to the European pop phenomenen otherwise known as Eros Ramazzotti, then 9 will give you an introduction to his style. However, a better introduction would be the 1997 "Eros" (greatest hits) album,
If you are looking for those Eros trademark polished ballads, and up-tempo exquisitely finished Italian pop tunes, then this album will not let you down.
Just snuggle down with the one you love, and have this album playing. Sigh... heaven.
