The uks answer to the usa's acid house explosion 808 state were the best band for uk house music ever!
this cd is the usa release of the album "90" which features extra tracks & mixes, it is therefore the superior product.
Buy this cd, forget the rest: uk acid is best!

808 State are a phenomenen. They do this kind of trance music that is capturing. They are popular in Ibiza and are gr8 for chillout sessions

the definitive 808 album 14 April 1999
By Andrew J. Barratt - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
this is the original 90 released in the UK (the us version, utd state 90 featured most of the tracks here, plus some reworked tracks from the previous mini-lp, Quadrastate)... buy this before you buy utd state 90, if only to hear the original (and superior) version of Ancodia (the version on utd state 90 was the 'taters deep nit funky beat mix, featured originally on the Cobra Bora UK 12").
A defining moment in UK dance history...

808 state 90 25 Mar 2000
By Laurence Sigler - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
This is the defining 808 state album, more refined than the Newbuild ep. Although 808 state's best work is the album EX:EL, this one is a must have.

Techno/House fans take notice 23 May 2006
By Eric M. Keys - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
I have owned this CD nearly since the original release date. Of course 808 State has had many great releases over the years, but this could be the most important of them all. From a technoloy standpoint, this album was years ahead of many others. It was recorded before it was cool to sport your Dad's Mini-Moog. Also, their name came via Roland's TR-808 drum-machine. The analog outboard gear rears its ugly head throughout the album. Take note in Pacific 212 with the TR 909 beats. This is definitely a must have for all interested in knowing where techno and house came up out of Manchester, England and Detroit. This gets five thumbs up.

A out of sorts album 15 Aug 2002
By Jay M - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
These three lads would go onto to produce some of the most memorable electronic and dance music of the early 90's, but for now they seemed just to be working their way upto it. Contains an early version of 'Pacific' which is a must for all fans though.
Other highlights include the speedy 'Cobra Bora' and the female vocal led 'Anaconda'.
But it does lack consistency and there is no flow to the album. It just sounds as if it has been thrown together.
