I have an HP OfficeJet H470wbt printer, that comes supplied with a Bluetooth adaptor. I have several PCs in the house and I wanted to be able to use this printer with any of them. One at least does not have built in Bluetooth, and I did not want yet another adaptor to plug into the PC. I do not particularly like having to enable and disable bluetooth on a PC, so i decided to try the Wirelesss option.

This adaptor plugs into the port on the printer as an alternative to the bluetooth adaptor. The port is recessed so the adaptor only protrudes proud of the printer body by a few mm.
You can choose an option to connect wirelessly directly from one specific computer (similar functionality to a Bluetooth connection) OR you can use the printer connected via a wireless router and available to any computer on the network.

The "getting started" guide with the adaptor was very straightforward and covered exactly what I needed to know to install the software/printer to communicate via this adaptor.

I am printing via a BT HomeHub 2.0. When travelling and carrying this printer, I now have the option to print via Bluetooth OR via Wireless. I need to investigate if one is better for the battery-life of the printer.

It works excellently and I am VERY happy. I am not a technical expert, but to me it is OBVIOUS that to convert a printer into a wireless-printer (or bluetooth compatible printer) then the adaptor needs to conect to the PRINTER.
You can only use this adaptor with a printer that is compatible, and minimum starting point is a compatible USB-A type connection on the PRINTER!

Why do people post reviews which downgrade products just because of their own stupidity.

Look at the product - its obviously a USB connection, and its obvious it has to go on the printer else how else is a non-wireless printer going to suddenly become wireless enabled? If you cant figure that out, then go do some research first rather than impacting a products review rating.

per HP blurb (not on amazon, hence me posting this) ***This easy to install printer adapter allows you to print wirelessly--from your wireless PC, notebook, PDA or other wireless device to your printer. Compatible with the Officejet H470***

So if you have that, get this. If not, find one compatible with your printer...but if your printer has no USB port, get a new printer before trying to go wireless.

This product was delivered on time and in excellent condition, top marks to Kikatech.
I inserted it into the slot in my HP H470 printer and by the time I turned back to my laptop,my BT Homehub2 and the adapter had connected. How easy could it be?
A test print printed first time with no problems and all prints since then, both from my Acer laptop and my Acer tablet, have printed perfectly.

Although perhaps a little expensive compared to other offerings on the market, the ease of connection and operation have made it worthwhile. A pity that HP choose to make their product require a special rather than a generic adapter but hey, what companies don't try that nowadays!
