Once you get used to the idea of wearing this on your head, you can forget about it and watch the screen for the Apps to show you which brainwaves are emitted.
The Apps provided are mainly geared to the schoolchildren market, when adults could also benefit. For grown-ups you can see your "Attention" and "Meditation" scores being graphed, which is fine, but I do need some more tips on how to influence them.
There are other free Apps, along with paid ones, on the Neurosky website, as this is an Open Source technology, which are well worth checking out.
I haven't yet succeeded in getting the headset to pair with my iPhone nor iPad, which is a shame, as iTunes has a very interesting App which shows your brainwaves in response to listening to music.
One day you should be able to control instruments using your thoughts like in the film "Firefox", so this is an interesting glimpse into the future.

I have Windows 7 on 3 computers and very occasionally I have managed to make a connection between headset and Dongle. The driver for the Dongle appears to be the problem. I have given up trying to get thinkgear connector to connect. Absolute waste of money keep away from this product, i've never had such a problem with trying to get something to work even with the software update. This is a good idea problem is it just doesn't work.

I find the software to be quite temperamental but I think this is because of Windows 8. Other than that the idea is good and it gives me a decent view of my concentration etcetera based on my brain waves. Interesting technology and I'm curious to see how it advances.
