The 5 and 8 port compact Dual Speed switches from Comet Labs provide switching capabilities to the small office environment.Unlike a Hub,these two Switches offer a dedicated bandwith for each port.
Using Nway auto-negotiation technology to establish the link either at 10 Mbps,100 Mbps,20 Mbps (in Full-duplex mode)or 200 Mbps,and based on a new single chip controler,the Comet Labs 5 and 8 ports switches enable full wire speed transfers in a high performance,non-blocking architecture.
Addressing up to 2,000 MAC addresses,these Switches represent the highest reliability and the most affordable solution to avoid bottlenecks and traffic congestion in small and medium sized networks.
Compact and easy to install,these Switches are equipped with an external power supply.
No configuration is required.The 5 and 8 port switches are equipped with a front panel which displays status of network and port informations.
Supporting category 5 Unshielded (UTP)or Shielded (STP)twisted pair cabling,these products have been successfully tested with European 120 Ohm standard cable.
Its design in snow colour enable easy integration with the peripherals and other devices into your environment

the best you can get for you money,

this is most certainaly an extremaly good buy for anyone who is just starting out putting together networks in there small office or home.This ethernet hub is fantasticaly desighed to be the best start up hub there can be at this prestent moment(for how much it costs) it is better for a novice user than a profesional hub, though it can be used for profesional aplications as long as you are using the right tools e.g.using XP pro will give you plenty of tips for networking and even where to place your hub on the network.it will give you transfer rates at reasonable speeds(10/100 mhz) this is a fantastic buy if you want to start networking small office or home it would even be a good buy if you want to just learn about networks.
