Format: Audio CD
This was Double 99's first and only CD album. But it's disappointing. It's a combination of 4/4 Garage and House from Omar Adimora and Tim Liken (aka Tim Deluxe of "It Just Won't Do").
Track by track
Freakazoid - Goes nowhere, repeats "freakazoid" over and over. It does have a groove, but doesn't inspire me.
Ripgroove - I've always loved this, but this is the "Radio Edit" WITHOUT the Top Cat rapping. If you want the longer mixes with and without the rapping, get the single.
Funk @ the net - I really don't know what's going on with this. It's kind of a funky house instrumental. It needs proper vocals to sound good.
Satisfied - I like this. This is a good soulful/funky house song with positive vocals by Philly Collins (?). There's horns and a good instrumental section. If you have a PCDJ setup, it could fit in.
Shiver feat Victoria Horn - This is more like a chillout song. You might hear this at a bar and just relax. It's OK. It bridges both sides of the album.
High Life feat Byron Stingily - A great uplifting funky house track. Byron Stingily's vocals are vocodered, which is interesting and the beat is driving you on. This defintely would fit in to a PCDJ setup.
Ripjazz 2 - similar to Funk @ the net.
Scream - similar to Funk @ the net. Uses a sample from the rapper Black Rob.
I See You - even worse than Freakazoid. They've lost the plot here.
7th High feat Sneaker Pimps - goes nowhere really. Although it has the Sneaker Pimps, this is after Kelli Dayton left, so you WON'T hear vocals from the woman who sang "spin spin sugar".
If You Ever Fall In Love feat Victoria Horn - ends the CD with a chillout song.
This CD album is strange because most Double 99/R.I.P. fans would expect a collection of full length 12" versions and remixes.

A return for the ledgends of US garage. It's been years scince double 99's RIP groove first rocked our clubs, but now the sub-bass heavy artists are back with a full album of deep tones and fleshy snares. Clean, produced, sweeping and hard-edged. Breakbeat fans of the old skool era will feel very at home with this material, whilst funky house DJ's may easily find this title winding up as a mainstay of their boxes; proving the versatitlity and universal appeal of this long awaited album. Well worth checking out!!
