got it in 4 days, sticks out of the computer 7mm, very fast internet loading, range is over 80 meters and behind conifer trees. Took 3 hours to load it not sure why, in the end unloaded all software,put in disc first then dongle, opened disc, selected install, put in password and all now seems to work fine, hope this helps. Instructions pathetic crazy tiny writing

Good product. Seems a little flimsy (hence not 5 *) - still a good piece of kit. Very subtle and discreet.

My laptop wireless card had developed a fault and was not able to connect to my wireless router unless I was right next to it. However, I wanted to be able to use this particular laptop in the bedroom and the the laptop could no longer get the signal that far.
This product seemed a cheap and simple solution rather than taking the PC to get repaired. I had seen a large selection of wireless dongles and liked the look of the mini ones as they only stick out a few mm from the USB slot. I have just installed it and it is working well with a strong signal approx 10 metres from the router.
HOWEVER, just a word of caution: The installation leaflet is more microscopic than the unit and unreadable. There are instructions on the mini CD but the screenshots proved inaccurate. The unit also comes with the drivers on the mini CD. My laptop has a slot DVD reader and does not take mini discs. I was able to copy the contents of the disc onto a USB flash drive using the drawer DVD drive on my wife's laptop. Then I had to install the driver from the USB flash drive.
There are several drivers to choose from and my first attempt failed when I chose the one marked for Windows 7. I also decided to switch off the built in wireless on the side of my laptop in case that may interfere. I read the back of the packet and noticed that the unit had a 8188 chipset. There were two drivers for this and I just chose the 8188CU. I uninstalled the first attempt and restarted my laptop before installing the other driver. Luckily this worked.
So, if your laptop cannot use mini discs, you need more than basic computer knowledge to install this unit. That said, I am so far very pleased I have restored my internet connection for little cost.

Doesn't work
Like the 2-star reviewer, I couldn't get this to work on my mac, even after finding all the software on the manufacturer's website. A waste of money, in other words.
