Does the job 1 Sep 2011
It covers the lens, and the pinch grip makes it easy to fit and remove - much easier than the Canon one that came with my lens. Especially so if you have a lens hood attached.

It's not as good as the Jessops one I have, which includes an elastic loop to go round the lens body; this one just has a string, which is most easily attached to the camera body, and so less convenient when changing lenses. You could fairly easily make your own elastic loop from shock cord, of course.

Amazon Verified Purchase
after my first purchase (for my 18-55mm kit lens) I decided to buy 2 more, 1 for my 50mm 1.8 (52mm cap) and my 75-300mm (58mm) very secure cap and unlike my last one, wont fall off in the bus leaving your lens exposed to the elements.

Nikon caps are just as good or better (i don't know never used them but it is the same type)
but how weird would that look, a Nikon cap on a canon camera.
