I bought this book at the same time as another...and although it's good,it is nowhere near in the same league as my other purchased book of 99 Snowflakes by Leisure Arts.Some very nice designs in here,range of size(2 1/4"-4") isn't as good as the 99 snowflakes publication,along with the blocking instructions or the starching guide.Although some of the designs resemble glorified coaster patterns,some are quite beautiful and "snowflake" like.If you want small snowflakes,and are not concerned as to various pointed blocking diagrams,and are happy with your ability for starching,then I think this book is for you.If,on the other hand you like varying sizes and designs of snowflakes,more challenging projects and patterns then I think my first choice is by far the better to the more demanding crocheter. :-99 Snowflakes (Leisure Arts #3013)
