What an excellent book - so beautiful to browse through, and a mine of information about every place visited on mainland Britain.
First I checked the places I thought I knew well and was amazed to learn new facts about favourite familiar places, photographed so well...made me look again are what I thought I was familiar with.
This is book of more than straight facts. the stunning photography captures each locality perfectly, drawing you into the carefully crafted prose which really gets into the heart of a place.
A pleasure to read at a warm fireside, but you'll soon be off exploring where they've been. Irresistible!
I ordered this book having seen it already (it's very nice, so I am happy to give it 5 stars) but the gift wrap it came in was horrible. The cheapest , lowest quality wrapping paper I have ever seen, a nasty colour, a very cheap and nasty gift label and poorly wrapped. On top of this, there were two rips in it. I would be deeply ashamed to give it to someone in this condition.
Never EVER get amazon to gift wrap your products, it is the biggest rip-off I have ever seen. It cost over £3. I expected something quite nice, and now feel very stupid. It was so poor that I feel whoever wrapped it was taking the p***
Lovely to browse through and plan a weekend away. The descriptions of villages and places of interest very accurate. A great coffee table book
