'If you fancy a walk... all you need is this great pocket guide... there really is fun for all the family.' Primary Times Featured in Food & Travel, August 2012. Food & Travel 'His friendly, folksy style encourages the walker to revel in the journey and sights to be seen rather than regard it as a set task to be completed before nightfall. On another level, the book also serves as an egaging guide to the rich flora and fauna of this blessed plot ' Sussex Life Magazine

The author, Richard Williamson, was the warden at Kingley Vale Nature Reserve for many years and his knowledge of wildlife has spread into this little book. Little it may be but the walks are full of interest and he points out everything the naturalist will likely to see on each walk. Some of the walks are fairly short, so its possible to take in two or even three on a day out. West Sussex has a wealth of pleasant walks books, this is one of many, but the totally different approach appeals.

I ordered this book as a Christmas gift. It is lovely, interesting to read and all the walks sound great. The book is a sensible A5 size and will fit into a coat pocket easily. Can thoroughly recommend this item for a gift for a walker.

This book will suit the intermediate walkers among you, those who want to get into the downs to be among the countryside or out with your dog.
