Bust a Move Bash (known simply as "Bust a Move" here) is the latest installment in the BAM series for Wii. As expected, the remote has been implemented into the traditional gameplay of shooting coloured bubbles up the screen and matching them in groups of three or more to make them explode.

The puzzle mode is still as addictive as ever. No storyline of any kind though, and the animated backgrounds can get annoying while you're trying to concentrate on playing the game itself. There is a new shooting mode where you have to aim your remote at coloured bubbles flying across the screen to get rid of them. This mode proves to be rather frustrating as you have to make sure the colour of the bubbles you are firing is the same colour as the ones you're aiming at, otherwise your time runs out faster. Needless to say, its rather tricky to change the colour of your bubbles without accidentally aiming at other colours in the process.

The vs. mode has also changed, and instead of players being on split screens, they're blasting bubbles in the same area, making things a lot more confusing. Having two players is nutty enough, I can't imagine how it would be with 8! That's how many the vs. mode allows, though if you didn't have a big screen television, you wouldn't be able to see much.

The music is cheerful enough, with no real sign of any of the traditional BAM themes, which was sad. Another disappointment is that none of the characters talk any more. Minor aesthetic things, but may be a turn off for fans.

Overall, its a fair enough game. But if you want some more hardcore Bust a Move action, try one of the other titles in the series - this one will be completed very quickly.

I used to love this game when I got the old version off my nephew years ago (especially after night shift when you don't want to do anything to taxing)so thought great I'll get it for my wii. But I was really disapointed. They've taken a simple but brilliant game and made it more complicated but less fun. Infuriatingly though whenever I do go on it I end up being on for ages then think I've just wasted the last two hours of my life. Its so addictive but pointless.
