Truly inspiring 15 Aug 2010
By Paul Lawrence - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
Seriously, if this doesn't get you severely infected by the travel bug then go to your doctor and ask him to check you actually have a pulse.

This lovely hardcover book presents - as its' title suggests - 501 journeys for travel addicts to drool over. The body of the book equates to well over 500 pages and is broken up into logical geographic sections. Each of the 501 journeys are given a page where they are discussed in the barest fashion and some pertinent facts imparted as well as there being a photograph of some scene from the journey. As such the book is offering only the most perfunctory of information regarding each of these trips, but given the plethora of options trotted out in front of the reader there are bound to be a huge number of these that will appeal to just about any taste. And that, really, is part of the beauty of this book as it really is the perfect gift for the traveller in your social circle. It's also cheap enough to treat yourself to, just to have on your shelf as inspiration for when you need an extra reason to get out of bed and go to work on a miserably cold morning.

For what it is, a colourful and fun smorgasbord of travel ideas.
