The car has always had a problem with steamed up windows an windscreens. It's terrible in the winter and seems to take forever to clear. I purchased the rechargeable mini dehumidifiers previously, but they were worse than useless. These however, work amazingly well. I put both of them on dashboard while the weather was still warm - so they could get to work early - and over the winter, my windows/windscreens didn't steamed up even once. After a few months I put them on the radiator for a couple of days to regenerate, and to date, they work as good as new. A little tip. I thought they may have a tendency to slip and slide around on the dashboard, so I cut some non slip matting to size, and stitched it to the mesh covers. It works a treat, plus the bags inside can still be removed when needed. I highly recommend.

We had a problem: one garage, two cars. That means that in the winter, one is left outside and moisture condenses on the windscreen. That can be wiped off, but when it is cold it freezes over and the windscreen is opaque until the heater gets going. However, the heater only really gets going when the engine is warm and you are on the move.

I tried anti-mist solutions such as Mer and RainX but they didn't even stop the condensation. Then I saw these. I stick one in each car under the windscreen. They are excellent! So far this winter we have had no problems. Also, you can regenerate them my heating at just over 100C, eg, slow cook setting in the oven or short bursts of 1 minute in the microwave. The seller recommends hanging them on a radiator. I am drying mine out for the first time now, and the amount of moisture coming out is amazing. The 500g bags weighed 600g when I started.

The gel is sealed inside a bag and that is enclosed in a sturdy black Velcro-sealable netting pouch with a hanging loop. I guess they could be used anywhere damp is a problem, assuming they are not exposed to too much fresh air.

There is an indicator in one pouch which I have not found useful. It is supposed to show how damp the area is, but I haven't seen it change colour at all.

All-in-all this is a 5* product at a bargain price.

I have used this method many years ago with similar sized packs used in transporting large IT equipment and they were ideal. I bought two twin packs for use in two cars the idea being one drying while the other in use. I have not yet had the weather to use them but they are well packed and I have no doubt they will do the job.

I came back to my car a few weeks ago to find it completely misted up inside, this meant I had to wait 15 minutes for the heater to dry it out because I didn't have a cloth of any sort. I put a couple of these in and no problems since. I know the cause of the issue is a leaking door seal but this is a good solution, especially as I only use the car a couple of times a month.

Might have to buy a couple more as my wife has pinched one..

It came on time and is a significant improvement. The only thing I might do differently next time is buy the 1Kg size. Every once and a while there can be a little (I mean little) condensation on the front windscreen. That is probably my fault as I had no idea what size to buy. I have a Peugeot 206 so big might have been better. The ones I have still work a treat and am really happy how dry they do work.

suffered from excessive condensation for years and never gave a thought that instead of making a right mess trying to wipe windows dry before setting off a product like this was available, it really has been an eyeopener , another great product at a great price from Amazon!
