This book claims to be "the only pie and tart book you will ever need," However it did not meet my needs. I assumed that as there are 500 pie and tarts that there would be roughly equal amounts of savoury and sweet pies, but there are only a handful of savoury and hand held pies in this book. It is actually more of a dessert book great if thats what you want.
The 500 count is made up of each pie having 4-7 variations on the recipe which I had assumed would be the case, however the annoying thing is that instead of the variations being on the same or next page as the main receipe, they are actually end the end of each chapter, so page 31 is the perfect apple pie and its variations are on page 48 so if you want to make one of the variations you have to keep flicking back and forth which is very annoying.
However on the plus side it is a nice little compact book with glossy pages and it does have pictures of the pies/tarts (but only the main receipe not of the variations.)
The chapters in the book are as follows:
*Pie and Tarts basics
*Classic pies & Tarts
*Fruit pies & Tarts
*Cream, Custard & Chiffon pies
*Meringe, Frozen & Chilled pies
*Savoury Pies & Tarts
*Mini Pies & Tartlets
*Individual pies & Turnovers
*Cobblers, Strudels & Crumble pies
*Special Occasion Pies
The mini and individual sections are mainly sweet, if I had known this before I probably would have known this is not the pie book for me.
