Product Description

Inspiration abounds in this unique new entry in the popular 500 series. From garments to carpets to vessels, from home décor to installations, 500 Felt Objects is an impressive, flagship display of masterful felt creations. This very diverse collection honours the work of traditional fibre artists side-by-side with avant-garde designers and a broad range of styles, colours and forms help reveal felt's full potential. The pieces, made by an international roster of artists, are a constant surprise and delight.

Gorgeousness! 22 Aug 2011
By Morna Crites-Moore - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
What a gorgeous book! It is amazing, with so many incredible examples of felt fiber art, it takes my breath away.

The juror for this book was Susan Brown, associate curator of textiles at the Cooper Hewitt, National Design Museum in New York City. Brown was curator of the 2009 exhibit, Fashioning Felt, which was a spectacular assemblage of felt art.

The diverse objects run the gamut from garments to sculptural forms to home decor, with many stops in additional categories along the way. With so many diverse objects pictured, the layout of the book must have been a wonderful challenge. Art Director Matt Shay's thoughtful choices make the book a lovely pleasure to behold. You'll have to pick up the book for yourself to see how beautifully put together it is.

Full Disclosure: I am really, truly honored to be included in this international group of fiber artists ... on page 248. :)

This arrived yesterday and I spent the evening pouring over each page. It is fabulous! Wished there were photos of Carol Cypher's work in it, but enjoyed everyone else's felt interpretations. Awesome woolen eye candy and worth every cent!

A Panorama of Contemporary Feltwork 29 Aug 2011
By J. Giles - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
500 Felt Objects: Creative Explorations of a Remarkable Material is brimming over with charge-your-engine, challenge-your-mind feats in felted wool. I was thrilled to see a wide range of felt from industrial design through conceptual work, to traditional pieces and high fashion items. It's a remarkable panorama of what is going on with felt today and a definite one to have at home.

I am truly honored to be included (Hibiscus Rose Scarf & Oat Tendril Scarf)
