I have tried 2 recipes now from this book and I think there must be errors in the recipes because both have turned out terrible. If you are thinking of buying this book....DON'T. I bake for a living so I know what I am doing and these recipes dont work!!

disappointing - was hoping for magic from Apple publishers,

Years ago I bought a friend a wonderful book by Apple publishers called "cookies". I have hunted and hunted for a copy for myself but it is now out of print. You can imagine my delight when they released this series of books : 500 Cakes, 500 Cookies, etc etc. I immediately bought three different ones! Sadly the content is disappointing and altho' they've made an effort to include variations on each recipe, it's just dull dull dull. I might bake a few of these, but not unless I can find equivalent recipes in finer books.

Tried a several recipes in the book, they all taste great! Clearly, the recipes are tested. The book provided some basic recipes for cakes and suggested alternative ingredients so to modify the basics according to ones taste. Highly recommended.
