This is the worst book of walks I have ever used. I have now attempted 8 of the walks and found on each occasion that the directions are incorrect or impossible to follow!

One of the walks featured goes right past my doorstep and even then when I am familiar with local landmarks and footpaths I haven't been able to fathom out the route.

I've never posted a review before but I feel I should to warn anyone who is thinking of attempting one of these walks.

I have never written a review before but this book has given us so many unhappy times ("it's that way", "no it isn't it must be that way!") that I had to write. We have tried 4 of the walks and have got lost on every one. We are not 'real' walkers with OS maps of every area, just a couple who thought we would enjoy walking in the Kentish countryside.
This book was not a good introduction.
The instructions given are far too loose, no mention that some sections are on busy roads and no indication of the distance before you need to 'take the stile on the right'. Finally last week we both became so incensed with the bad route instructions that the book was thrown into the nearest rubbish bin.

Some beautiful walk locations but too many inaccuracies. War time pill boxes seem to have changed locations since WW2.

My major concern is with 'dog friendliness'. The author frequently suggests that you 'nip over stiles'. Unfortunately many of these stiles are designed to keep animals out and having hauled my 34 kilo golden retrievers over several I can only agree that they are highly successful.

I look forward to a walk that I noted had 19 stiles but not until I buy my new truss!!
