Whilst the areas for the walks seem to be lovely, the instructions are lousy. We've done two walks in the New Forest area from this book and got lost on both. The first was #32 Hampshire's Great Garden at Exbury which had us searching for a T-junction at the end of a cornfield. This junction didn't exist but we asked a farmer who headed us off in the right direction by leaving the field and following a lane to the left. Then we were supposed to come back via the mudflats, the highlight of the walk with all the wading birds out at low tide, but couldn't find the access to the beach so ended up walking along the road, rather boring. Yesterday we did another walk from this book, #36 Church Treasures at Minstead. The instruction was to "follow a series of signposts". Well, just how many is a series? We were looking for a gate to the right but no idea of distances are given and we completely missed the gate and headed off for miles through a boring conifer plantation, nearly reaching the A31 before deciding that we'd chuck this book and use another in future.
