If you take portraits of any kind and want them to look like more than a snapshot then you need to think about light... soft natural light through a window, golden sunlight in the afternoon, or one or more flashes, whatever your light source there is a tendency to have light coming from above or the side but this can leave shadows under eyes/nose/chin that take the shine off your shots.

The solution? Use a reflector like this to bounce some of that light back up, just enough to fill out some of those shadows and give your photos an extra kick.

This kit gives you the option of different coloured reflectors to help you match/control your light and once you learn the trick of folding it up (not difficult really) it's nice and handy to store.
