When throwing away personal documents I used to almost exclusively use the shredder. However most letters that are sent to me (including junk mail) only contain my name in one or two places, and shredding them is rather a waste of electricity and time - not to mention the annoyance factor when the shredding mechanism on the machine gets clogged.
These scissors are a great alternative, and are really simple and easy to use. I am concerned about the photo showing them being used to cut credit cards though, as it's difficult enough using them on thin card. One star off for that, as I think it's misleading.

Very useful device. You can just shred your address without having to shred the whole document. My only criticism is that you can only cut one piece of paper at a time, but other than that, good value product which 'does what it says on the tin'!

This seemed such a good idea.
I do have an electric shredder but I was hoping that these scissors would cut up odd sheets of paper rather than having to get the shredder out for just a couple of items.
The first cut with the scissors is OK, but if the paper is any wider than a couple of inches and one needs to take another cut--it can't be done! Shreds of paper jam between the blades making it very difficult to cut any further without picking out all the shreds first.
It's actually quicker to use ordinary single bladed scissors--or get the electric shredder out.
