Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4)

Hi all,

I realise that there is much talk of the PS4 confirmation date etc, but I see no official mention of this by Amazon (probably missing it). If anyone could confirm this and where I could read it that would be greatly appreciated, I assumed from reading these forums that we would know the estimated delivery "by" the 4th, now it seems to be "on the fourth sometime" and knowing Amazon (didn't receive a bundle email, not that I would have gone for one I don't think) and their CS (asked for an email so I could at least LOOK at the options in case I felt frivolous) I can see tomorrow passing with no update.

The 4th of November comes from an e-mail sent to people with pre-orders, which reads as follows!

We're writing about your pre-order for the Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4) console - order xxxxxxx

Sony has announced a number of new PlayStation 4 bundles available for delivery at launch. As one of the first customers to have pre-ordered the console at, we're giving you the option to upgrade to one of these money-saving bundles. Customers will be contacted in the order in which they placed their PS4 pre-order and given a choice of the bundles, or they can keep their existing console order.

If you'd like to take advantage of the offer we'll need your bundle choice by October 23, 2013. If you'd like to opt in to one of the bundle offers, or if you'd prefer to keep your existing order for the PlayStation 4, just let us know by visiting the following page where you can view details of the bundles and make your selection.

If you've already selected your bundle choice on the site, we've saved your selection and there's no need to complete the form again.

Once we've received your selection, we'll take care of the rest. We'll be processing your selection in the order in which your original pre-order was received and your order will be updated prior to release date to reflect the bundle you've chosen. Your original estimated delivery date will stand.

All selections will be updated by November 4, 2013 and we'll notify you by e-mail when this is completed so you can view the order details, including the revised item price and confirmation of delivery date in the Your Orders section of Your Account. You can view Your Account at the top of any page on our website or at the following link:

Remember, your pre-order is eligible for Pre-order Price Guarantee, so we'll ensure you get the lowest price offered by between the time you placed your order up to and including the release date.

Please note this offer is only available to customers with an existing PlayStation 4 pre-order with, for a limited time only. All responses received through the form by October 23, 2013 will be processed. If you don't respond by this date then your original PlayStation 4 order will remain unchanged.

i think if you dont have any changes in your account then you not get any bundle.

James Adams says:

Thank you so much for that fantastic response.

I never actually received a bundle offer, so wonder if my solus only will be updated tomorrow - I must admit whilst I chose Amazon due to their "by xmas" promise, I hope to have an answer sooner rather than later on to when I should get a console.

Posted on 3 Nov 2013 20:26:02 GMT
No worries! I'm really not sure how they're doing it to be honest - Im concerned that mastachaz87 is right and that by the time they got to mine they'd run out of the relevant bundle so are just Solusing me, but would have assumed that if the one I requested was unavailable I'd get a next choice? Who knows, should all be clear by this time tomorrow though, good luck ith your order and I hope you get in good time!

C Bond says:
I spoke to Amazon Chat just now and they said if you selected a bundle you will be contacted by the end of today. But it seems if you've stuck with a solus you just have to wait until they get more stock confirmed :(

I was worried this was going to be the case - I am very disappointed with this. I just want to try and arrange my money, days off etc and whilst this may seem a bit extreme, is what I would like to do.

Posted on 4 Nov 2013 12:08:19 GMT
I did the same as C Bond and contacted Amazon chat today. Didn't get the you will be contacted by the end of today. I got you will have to wait a little longer.

I'm just slightly irritated that there isn't more transparency regarding this, whoevers fault.
As I have said before, I would expect an explanation if this all goes belly up (I pre-ordered on the 11 July).

James Adams says:
I didn't get a "How did we do" email.

Most likely because in asking these two questions:
1. Why didn't I get a bundle email?
2. When will my Solus Order be updated?

Both questions didn't get an answer - surely I should have had a bundle email at the least?

James, it depends on when you ordered

Mr. O. Dash says:
Well, my order had updated to my selected bundle (Mega Bundle) and the delivery date stayed the same (29th Nov) but the price didn't increase from £349.

As it was the 4th, I reached out to CS for confirmation, and was pleased when they confirmed my bundle selection and delivery date, but then when confirming the price I was told the £349 was the final price I'd pay.

I really wouldn't complain if that was the case, but it's just not, so now doubt anything they tell me. Guess we'll just have to wait a bit longer.

James Adams says:
So it seems, but not what the writing below the product says on the contact us page.

"Sony has announced a range of PlayStation 4 console options available at launch, 29 November. We're contacting customers via e-mail in the order in which they placed their order, offering the chance to choose from the different bundles available, or to stick with the original console pre-order. Please look out for the e-mail we'll send you shortly, to see the options available to you."

I think people just want to know, in terms of Solus why couldn't they release a statement saying "We don't know when Solus will get updated, we don't have that info from Sony, only bundles will be updated on the 4th." as well as "We haven't emailed everyone regarding bundles as you ordered too late, if there is any left after the 4th we will email people."

The fact that people want these consoles and there are still other, less attractive options out there (e.g. ShopTo, Zavvi, etc.) and Amazon feel (rightly, I haven't cancelled even though I am highly irritated) they can do not need to make a statement policy throughout CS is ridiculous. It's quite simple surely?

Amazon will have a lot of angry customers if they don't fulfill bundles when others are still selling them

Mike & Mr.O.Dash

I think its just a case of the left and right hand don't know what each other are doing.

CS are probably just seeing what you do on your orders and repeating back.

DeWinter says:
JohnA, as you ordered before the deadline of August 6th, you are surely guaranteed release day console. Did you update with a bundle or have you stuck with the solus console? I would get on to them just to confirm. The reality is for others, if you ordered any time after August 6th, and stuck with the solus console, you won't get estimated delivery but if you pre-ordered a bundle at a late stage, you will (edit: at some point this week no doubt).
