I bought this product to teach my children in a fun way about digital time. We all had a fantastic time discovering the various fruits that can work the clock. Also, as the fruits have wilted, the children have been amazed by the drying up process and discolouration of the fruits.

My only worry, and it is a big one, is that the instructions with the potato clock state that the electrodes can be placed in various liquids to make the clock work. I was a tad concerned that this would give my children the false impression that they could put any electrical worries in water to make a product work. Therefore, I removed the instructions and never mentioned anything about using fluids to power the product.

All in all this is a fun product that gave lots of fun, investigation and learning. I am delighted I bought it!

This product worked on first setting it up. The connections to the electrodes were fiddly and the tape did not hold them firmly. The digital clock worked but again the connections came and went rather easily. Once set up and working, it was best not to touch it, but it was fun to see it working and learn the science behind it.

Product arrived in plenty of time and I gave it as a Christmas gift. The instructions aren't clear as to how to set the clock so although the potatoes do power the clock it can't really be used. As a stocking filler it fulfilled the requirements as it is interesting but I was disappointed with its lack of functionality.

I bought this for my Boss and he loved it. Took a photo of it on his phone and showed it to anyone who would look. Brilliant on lots of levels. Not just for kids, although hopefully it would help illustrate scientific principles to kids of the right age. Kids of other ages will just love it.

I ordered this item in November for a Christmas present. I did not realise the trader was in CHINA - my fault I know, but just be aware if you order here, that your item will take forever to arrive! My package did not arrive until 24 December and, of course, I was out when it arrived so had to collect it from post office after Christmas. It did not look as though it was marked for air mail despatch which presumably is the reason it took so long, I could have bought it in a local shop for the same price.

Got this as a gift for two little boys. I wanted something that was different to the usual toys that they have - which equates to cars, cars and more cars. I do believe that toys like these will make them think more and have a better perspective. Once they have done connecting the potato, as suggested they can then try with different other vegetables. And this kind of acts like a show-off toy for them to show and quiz their friends.

I had my doubts about this but also I was more excited than my son to find out if it would really work!
It does! And it lasts a long while too! Not a flash-in-the-pan type of experiment. It also encourages you to try other fruits/vegetables to see if they will work the clock too... This was a clever little experiment and we're slowly working our way through the range... Very happy so far!
