Boot Drive 7 Jan 2011
I bought this to enlongate the life of my MacBook Pro 2,1 (late 2006). A quick reformat and it was possible to install Mac OS X Snow Leopard and use it as a boot drive, as a result things are much snappier(tm)

Basically the SSD is worth the money if you want a fast bootable drive for your Mac (and possibly others...).

Ordered the item to use it as a boot device for my late 2008 MBP running 10.6.4. Used the Disk Utility to initialize it and then installed Snow Leopard with no issues.
Time it took from start to end: approx. 30 minutes.

Boot time can be broken down into 2 parts:
1) the actual kernel & internal OS loading: this part pretty much took as long (maybe a tad less) as the internal 5400RPM 250GB drive.
2) loading the user environment and apps: this part was amazingly fast! Less than half, if not quicker, than it would take booting from the internal HD. Even faster than my FW 800 External disk (7200 RPM) that I also use to boot.

So all in all, I'm very happy with the purchase.

Update 05/2011:
Had issues with it approx. 6 weeks after usage. My notebook suddenly crashed one morning and wouldn't boot. Luckily (for me) I had used CCC (Carbon Copy Cloner). I reformatted and restored; it worked for another 2 weeks sand the same thing happened!

I contacted support and was told to send it in (to the U.S.). I did and was sent a new one (took them 3 weeks).

I asked them what the problem was but got no reply (typical support).

It has been working ever since with no issues. I still get a daily CCC backup just in case!

Nice device 12 May 2010
Before i bought this ExpressCard SSD i tried the Verbatim product, i have had trouble about the speed and also erros with my internal NIC, a desaster. With this SSD, which has also a nice mini USB connector, i have now after 4 weeks using time no problems...
Great! :-)
